Starting a Spiritual Business

Capitalism is killing us, so why not start a Spiritual Business and try to do things differently?

In today’s fast-paced world, it seems like everyone wants to do something different. Some people are interested in starting a restaurant while others want to open up a yoga studio. But there is another type of business that many people overlook—a spiritual business. These businesses aim to help clients find balance and harmony in their lives by providing holistic solutions, such as healing, counseling, coaching, workshops, courses, and retreats.

When thinking about starting a spiritual business that aims to provide products or services to those seeking guidance or healing, it helps to understand what makes these types of offerings unique.

For instance, some spiritual entrepreneurs focus on helping individuals lead happier, healthier lifestyles. Others specialise in offering holistic remedies for a variety of life situations, including depression, anxiety, stress, grief, and addiction. Still others focus on developing positive relationships among employees, customers, and vendors. Some become Life Coaches, or Spiritual Healers.

There is no one-size fits all approach to running a spiritual business or becoming a spiritual entrepreneur. However, here are some things to consider when deciding whether to establish this type of company, or give up the dream and keep doing what you’ve always done.

What Do You Want From A Spiritual Business?

– If you’re ready to begin your journey as a Spiritual Entrepreneur, it might help to know what you want out of life. What do you really want? In terms of spirituality, what does that mean to you? Do you want to grow spiritually? Are you looking to find purpose in your life? Whatever it is, you must decide what it is that you truly desire out of life. Once you’ve figured this out, you’ll be able to figure out how to monetize your passion.

– It also helps to think about who will benefit from your new venture. Will it be just you? Or will you have other people involved? This can be tricky because if you don’t have any experience in the field, then you may need to seek out mentors or coaches to guide you through the process.

– Think about what you want out of your spiritual business. Is it making money? Is it helping others? Maybe you want both. Regardless of the reason why you want to run your own business, you’ll need to think about what you want out your venture.

How To Find A Name For Your Spiritual Business

What’s in a name? Choosing the right business name really matters, and may even decide the fate of your business.

1. Brainstorm!

Get a few pads of sticky notes, some markers, and have a post it party to brainstorm your business name. You can do this alone, or call on friends and family to help. Just write down anything that comes to mind, stick them to the wall, and move on. Set a timer for one minute and see how many you can come up with.

2. Keep it Simple and Easy to Spell

If you’re going to start a business, you probably already know that having an easy-to-spell name is important. After all, most people won’t remember your name unless they see it written down somewhere. So, if you plan on using your name as part of your business’ branding, make sure that it’s not too difficult to spell or remember.

3. Choose a Name that Reflects the Type of Business You Run

Your spiritual business name needs to reflect the type of products and services you offer. If you sell tarot cards, you wouldn’t want to call yourself a crystal shop. Instead, you’d want to use a name that indicates that you provide readings. On the other hand, if you run a meditation center, you’d want to choose a name that makes it very clear you offer meditation events, resources, or training.

4. However, Don’t Be Too Generic!

How many Yoga Studios do you think there are in the United States? How many Tarot Readers? If you are a brick and mortar business with no online presence, this won’t matter as much – you’re probably the only Yoga Studio or Tarot Reader in your immediate area, or one of a very few. It’s rare for a business not to have an online presence, however, and that’s when you lose out if you’re lost among 89,700,000 search results. Keeping in mind the need for clarity, you can add your own personal flair to a basic description, to help you stand out; try something like Inner Power Yoga, or Karen’s Tarot Reading.

5. Avoid Names That Might Be Offensive

You certainly don’t want to offend anyone, so you should avoid choosing a name that could potentially cause problems. For example, if you’re planning on selling candles, you definitely don’t want to use a name that suggests sexual activity. Likewise, if you’re planning to sell jewelry, you shouldn’t choose a name that implies violence. If you have a few ideas, try them out on a diverse range of family and friends, to see if they spot something you don’t.

6. Use a Domain Name That Includes Your Spiritual Business Name

When choosing a domain name for your spiritual business website, you should consider using the exact name of your business. However, you could also opt for a subdomain name that includes your spiritual business name. Having the exact name of your spiritual business right there in your website domain is important for your SEO ranking.

Starting a Spiritual Business is Hard

Another thing to consider is what kind of support system you’ll need. If you plan to run a solo operation, you’ll likely need to make sure you have enough money saved up to cover at least six months’ worth of living expenses before you launch. On the other hand, if you plan to partner with someone else, you’ll need to determine how much equity they’ll contribute to the business.

Finally, you should ask yourself if you’re willing to put in the time and effort required to build a successful spiritual business. Many spiritual business owners struggle to get started because they lack the necessary skills to run a profitable business.

So if you’re considering launching a spiritual-based business, you’ll need to develop a solid foundation in areas like marketing, sales, accounting, and customer service. It’s not the fun stuff, it’s probably not your passion. But it is necessary for business success.

The truth is though, every single one of us has been an amateur at some point in our lives. We’ve all gone out there and tried to make something happen without having the skills or experience we needed.

We’ve all had those moments where we thought, “I don’t know what I am doing here. This isn’t working. I want to go home now.” And we did.

But guess what? Those times didn’t define us. They just showed us how far we still had to go.

So why do people think that they can’t do the things they can feel a pull towards doing? Because they are afraid of failing.

They are afraid of trying things out. Afraid to learn. Afraid to fail. Afraid to look stupid. Afraid to say yes. Afraid to even start a spiritual-based business.

And that’s exactly why they never succeed.
