Are you looking for the perfect spiritual business name? Check out our guide to help you find a name that resonates with your mission and values!

Finding the perfect spiritual business name can be tricky, especially when it must reflect the values and mission of your organisation, company, or solo enterprise. In this article, I’ve compiled some useful tips to help you choose a meaningful and memorable name that will captivate and inspire your audience.

Brainstorm Business Name Ideas

Start by brainstorming ideas for a spiritual business name that reflects your values. Consider words or phrases associated with your work, such as peace, compassion, love, magic, wisdom, divination, healing, or connection.

You can also add modifying terms such as Deep, Azure, Holistic, Glowing, or Serene to give it more personality. Some of these might sound a little cheesy at first, they are just suggestions of course. To truly personalise it, answer the question:

What one word really reflects the service I want to provide with this business?

Brainstorm different combinations based on your personal essential word, until you have a list of names that makes you smile!

Suggested Spiritual Names for Business

If you’re having a little trouble brainstorming a spiritual business names list, here’s one I made earlier! These are 25 possibilities for your new (or refreshed!) spiritual business…

If the above seems too spiritual and less towards the mystical, and you’d prefer to focus on magic or divination, here are ten more suggestions for spiritual names for a business which are a little less New Age and more towards the magical…

  1. Mystical Maven
  2. The Oracle’s Eye
  3. Magick Matters

  10. The Magician’s Mirror

If you want to personalise them further, why not add your favourite colour, or animal, or crystal, into the mix? For example, The Mystic Magpie, Blissful Blue, Graceful Green, Celestial Celestine, The Enchanted Amethyst, Hematite Health, etc.

Run a Domain Availability Check

It’s important to check the availability of your chosen spiritual business name as a web address, or domain, before going too far in the process of creating a website. A quick Google search should be enough to determine if the domain name is available or if it has already been taken.

(Before you go any further with registering a domain name, please follow the steps in the next sections, getting feedback, checking if it’s trademarked, and so forth!)

Next you’ll need to choose what form suits best (for example, this website is set up as a .business, rather than a .com website), and register the name with a hosting company, or Kajabi do a lovely one stop shop for all of this! (Get a 30 day free trial here).

Once you have registered your domain, be sure to set up hosting for your website and optimise it for search engine success!

Ask Friends, Family and Colleagues for Feedback

Engaging loved ones to get their feedback on your potential spiritual business name is a great way to make sure that it resonates with you and your mission.

Take the time to ask people you trust, who know you well and understand the values of your business, what they think about some of the names on your shortlist. This will help narrow down the options and ensure you settle on a name that resonates with everyone.

A word of caution however. Often with this type of spiritual business venture, those close to us don’t exactly understand what we’re trying to achieve, or even that it is possible. If you don’t have supportive friends and family (yet!) why not pop into our Facebook Community Group and ask for opinions or feedback on your potential spiritual business name there?

Is your Spiritual Business Name a Trademark?

Always check to see if there are any existing trademark applications for your chosen spiritual business name! Before settling on a name for your spiritual business, it is important to make sure that someone else isn’t already using the same or a similar name.

Check with your local government authority, wherever you are in the world (google will help), to make sure there are no existing trademark applications for the name that you have chosen. This will help ensure that you don’t encounter any legal issues later down the line.

It’s worth opening an incognito browser and running it through another search too, and also checking the SEO potential – I use Neil Pattel’s Ubersuggest for this.

Check for Offensive Content

This is an important one to make sure the name you choose doesn’t contain offensive or inappropriate words that could damage your brand image over time.

Please remember, this counts for terms in other languages or relevant to cultures other than your own! For example, ConvertKit had to roll back a branding name change in recent years, when they attempted to rebrand to “Seva,” inspired by the Sanskrit word meaning “selfless service” and the Hindi word meaning “service.” It did NOT go well for them.

While choosing a spiritual business name might not be something you’re thinking about when you’re just starting up, it is important to ensure that the name doesn’t contain offensive or inappropriate words that might come back to bite you at a later date.

This type of name could damage your business’s branding and reputation over time, as people become more aware of its meaning. It will also help ensure that customers don’t overlook your services due to any bad connotations associated with your name.

And please understand, especially with words from a culture or community you’re not a part of… it’s not up to you to decide whether it’s offensive or not.
